The Role

Are you ready for a winter season of a lifetime?

We are after eager and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of chalet hosts for the 22/23 season in Val d'Isere, Tignes and Val Thorens. We are a UK family-run ski tour operator who have been running since 2013. We have 11 catered chalets ranging from 6-28 people which are all offered on a sole-occupancy basis. You will only ever have groups of friends or families in the chalets, we do not rent by the room.

As a chalet host, you will be passionate about creating delicious food as well as delivering an impeccable hospitality experience to the customers staying in your chalet. You will be running a chalet 5 days of the week, preparing breakfast, afternoon tea, and 4-course dinner for your guests, as well as cleaning and maintaining the chalet to a high standard.

Your role is to offer the best holiday possible to your guests. You are there to ‘host’ them, to advise them on your favourite runs or best places for powder. To help them find the quickest route to the ski lifts and the best aprés and bar spots in the resort.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  • You will start the day by cooking a sumptuous breakfast, consisting of continental and hot options each morning
  • Whilst guests are eating, you can start prepping the afternoon cake or start on the dinner prep
  • Once the prep is completed and breakfast is tidied away, you will complete a daily light clean of the communal areas and guest rooms
  • Before leaving, you will lay out afternoon tea cake for the guests to return to after a long day skiing
  • You can then spend the afternoon hitting the slopes or simply relaxing
  • The evenings will vary slightly depending on your guests. Those with young children often require a slightly earlier children's dinner. Otherwise, you will go in as normal to cook and serve the guests a delicious dinner from a set menu before clearing up for the evening.

Responsibilities Daily:

  • Daily light housekeeping of communal areas, bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Presenting the chalet to a high standard
  • Stock control and unloading of food deliveries
  • You'll prepare and serve food to your weekly guests as part of a team. This is to include breakfast, afternoon tea, and a 4-course evening meal (canapes, starter, main and dessert)
  • Snow clearing
  • Hot tub maintenance
  • Thorough deep clean of chalets on transfer day
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Resort Manager

  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be proactive and work well under pressure with great attention to detail
  • Be a team player
  • Able to confidently cook 5 days a week. Cooking experience prefered or if you are planning on taking a cookery course before the season. We do train you to cook the set menu and provide recipes and so we will consider all abilities
  • Be well presented at all times
  • Have previous experience in hospitality with a preference for previous chalet/villa experience
  • Have housekeeping experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Are reliable and organised
  • Are respectful and communicate well with clients and colleagues (team players)
  • Are punctual and have a “can-do” attitude
  • Have a positive, mature, and energetic outlook to work and season life in general
  • Be flexible in your attitude towards our guests to maintain our excellent service level and reputation
